Implementing Emergent Curriculum part 1 & 2
In an emergent curriculum, children exercise their executive function skills by learning how to plan, brainstorm, and create as well as self-regulate when it comes to making choices and being intentional in their play. By practicing these skills as often as possible in an early learning setting, children are more likely to be prepared for the expectations of the kindergarten classroom. Part 1 covers the history and basic philosophy of emergent curriculum as well as the role of the teacher, the role of the child, and the role of the environment.
Part 2 covers observation, documentation, and combines the knowledge gained from part 1 and applies it to creating a lesson plan
