Calming Connections: De-escalation Strategies for Child Care Providers (Fall 2025)

This course will cover key concepts such as emotional
regulation, active listening, non-verbal communication, and the
importance of building strong, trusting relationships with
children. Providers will also learn how to recognize early signs of
distress, create a calm and supportive environment, and
employ strategies that help children return to a state of
emotional balance.
